The design of the phone has been the major focus of the South Korean giant Samsung since the past few years. This can be proved with the experimental designs in the Samsung Note Edge, Galaxy S7, S8 and Note 8. A previous report also showed that the company is working on a foldable smartphone which is rumoured to be called as Galaxy X and may be launched in the coming year along with the company’s flip phone. But now, the latest report suggests that the company is working on the world’s first truly bezel-less smartphone.
As per the Dutch website LETSGODIGITAL, Samsung has filed patents which shows that the company is looking forward to build a pure bezel-less smartphone with no notch, no top, bottom and side bezels. There will only be a display in the front side. One of the patents filed by the company dated May 2017 shows how Samsung will develop the truly bezel-less phone by bending the display with 180 degrees angle and stretching it till the rear side of the phone.
The concept image shared on LETGODIGITAL shows that the phone will have a great look with such a bezel-less display concept. The 180 degrees display will help to give a better grip on the phone, says Samsung. With such major highlight and feature in the phone, one can expect that the phone will come with better functionalities like the edge gestures, in-display fingerprint sensors and a better iris scanner which the company is working on currently.
However, it is not clear on where the company would be placing the front camera in such a smartphone. Also, there is still a suspense element for us now as to when Samsung would be releasing such a phone given the fact that it already has its hands full with many smartphone launches for the year 2018.
