It seems that Google’s Pixel 2 XL not yet proved to be a good and satisfactory device. Since the day the device entered the market, it has been faced a lot of issues relating to its display and sound. Previously, some of the Pixel 2 users informed that they were facing screen burn issue and after that, some reported that they are facing bluish tint. Now, a new report has informed about its new issue. Some users complaint about unresponsive edges and they are facing problems getting their devices to register touches near the edges of the screen. The issue came to limelight after a user informed this through the Pixel 2 community website.
A member of the community named Deathsoldier11 said:
“Yeah, same. I tested it with a painting app (SketchBook) and sliding my finger works and is detected along the edges. But when I try to click (draw a dot), then it only registers about 2mm from the screen’s edge on average. Which doesn’t seem like much, but it’s noticeable during daily use. And I actually noticed it on both sides when using the drawing app. So I’m assuming it’s software related to stop accidental touches, but if it affects the usability of the screen during normal use, then it’s an issue.”
It is said that the issue is not related to any hardware. It is happening due to its one of the feature called accidental touch feature, and it is a software issue. That brings relief to the Pixel 2 users, and as per the report, Google has started working on this. Google will release a software update very soon which will solve the problem. Pixel User Community manager, Orrin said “Thanks for all the reports here, and to those that sent up additional info. The team has been investigating, and this will be addressed in a future OTA update.”
Till now Google has not announced when it will release the OTA which will fix this problem.
