OnePlus Releases Oxygen OS 5.0 Android Oreo Update For OnePlus 5

As the New Year and Christmas gift, OnePlus has recently rolled out new OS update for its OnePlus 5 device. As per the report, the company has released Oxygen OS 5.0, the first official Android Oreo update for the OnePlus 5 device. It will be an OTA update. Well, the new OS brings some improvements, stabilities, and fixes to the device.  One of the most important things is the update comes with latest December security patch.

As per the OnePlus forum, this OTA will be incremental, and the OTA will reach a small percentage of users first, and then the company will begin a mass rollout in a few days.

The launched has been optimized, and the users now can upload photos via Shot on OnePlus. The new update brings a new camera user interface design and has optimized the photo quality. Now the user’s cane uses beauty effect while taking photos in Portrait mode. In the gallery, the users will now get a new tab named Place. It will help for viewing photos on a map. The calculator of the device has now history feature, and the new update has added alarm calendar feature.

Under the system, the new Oxygen OS 5.0 come with parallel apps feature, brings a new design for quick settings and lift up display. Under the screen calibration, the users will now get one new option, i.e., Adaptive model. It comes with optimization for Wi-Fi and battery saver.

The CEO of OnePlus Carl Pei has Twitted that very soon OnePlus 5 will get Face Unlock feature.

Carl Pei stated that, Due to popular demand, Face Unlock is coming for the OnePlus 5. Thanks for the feedback, and merry Christmas!

It may be noted that OnePlus had launched the OnePlus 5 in June 2017. The device has a 5.50-inch display, and it gives 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. Under the hood, it carries a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor which clocked at 1.9GHz. The device has a 6GB of RAM and offers 64GB of internal storage capacity. On the rear side it has a 20MP camera, and on the front, the device offers a 16MP camera. It now gets the Android Oreo 8.0 and Oxygen OS 5.0. The OnePlus 5T is backed by a 3300mAh battery.
