A few days ago a report had informed that Nokia 8 would not receive Android Nougat update instead of that the company will release the Android Oreo update directly. Now, HMD Global Oy has decided the same thing for its Nokia 3 smartphone. As per the new report, Nokia 3 will directly receive the Android Oreo 8.0 update soon. However, the company has not given any information about when the device will get the update, but it can be said that the company will release the latest Android update first to Nokia 6 and Nokia 5. The reason behind this is, a few days back, Juho Sarvikas informed that he has been reviewed the software for Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 devices and very soon the company will open the Nokia Phone Beta Lab program for these two smartphones and the interested users of these two devices can register for this.
It is expected that, in early January 2018, the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will get first open Android Oreo public beta version. Based on this it is also expected that the company will hold the similar beta testing for Nokia 3 also and it will be started in mid of December 2017. HMD Global may release a clean OS update for Nokia 3 during the end of January or in February 2018.
The latest update will come with some system enhancement like it will speed up the booting time, will give better battery life by closing unwanted background apps, will give better security features. It comes with picture-in-picture where a user can enjoy dual video call at the same time. It may be noted that Nokia 8, 5, 6 and 3 series phones will get 2018-based Android P OS update and it has been confirmed by the company.
