In case you are waiting for the launch of the Nokia 9 or the Nokia 7 smartphones by the end of this year, then this news might be disappointing for you as HMD Global might not unveil any new smartphone or release the Nokia 7 globally until 2018.
The Nokia 8 smartphone was launched in the month of August this year and soon after that, HMD released the mid-range Nokia 7 in the Chinese market. It was speculated then that the Nokia 7 might not reach other markets anytime soon. Now, the latest details hint that the Nokia 7 might be launched globally next year along with that of the Nokia 9.
As per the report by NokiaPowerUser, the company may not launch any of its new smartphone this year or release the Nokia 7 globally until 2018. This indicates that the HMD Global may launch the Nokia 9 smartphone in the coming year. Although the release date is unclear, there is a possibility that the phone may be launched in early 2018.
There is no official confirmation about this nor has the reason behind the same been revealed the company till now. But the speculated report suggests that the reason of pushing the release date forward to next year could be due to stock related issues related to Nokia 7 and component availability issues related to Nokia 9.
As per the several leaks received so far about the Nokia 9, the phone will mostly feature an edge to edge 3D display with bezel-less design. as per sources, the Nokia 9 smartphone will come with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone will also carry an IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. The finger print sensor of the phone is also likely to be placed below the rear camera of the phone. However, one will have to wait until the official launch of the phone to know the exact details.
