HMD Global Finally Releases Android 8.0 Oreo Update For Nokia 8

Last month, HMD Global had started Android Oreo Beta testing for its Nokia 8. A few days back the company informed that the testing had completed successfully and the update will be rolled out soon. Following its statement, the company has finally released the Android 8.0 Oreo update for Nokia 8. Just a few days ago, Nokia 8 also got November security patch. At the same time, HMD Global Chief Product Officer, Juho Sarviks also Twitted about the update on his official Twitter page. He posted-

Now, this post has confirmed that the company has rolled out the update. Earlier, HMD Global had informed that in future the update would be rolled out for Nokia 2, Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. As the Nokia 8 has finally got the update, it is expected that very soon other devices will get the update.

Talking about the features that Android Oreo has, it comes with picture-in-picture mode, background app, and data restriction feature, auto-file framework, all app will now support fingerprint sensor gestures, night mode intensity adjustment option, updated and new emoji, lock screen app customization and many more. As per the information given by the company, all the latest Nokia smartphone will get Android P update when it releases, because the devices support two years of Android OS update program.


Launched in August 2017, Nokia 8 comes with a 5.3-inch QHD IPS display with 1440p resolution. The display is protected by a 2.5D curved glass and also by a Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, it has Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and a 4 GB of RAM. It comes with 64 GB of internal storage. The storage capacity can be expanded further up to 256 GB by using a Micro SD card. On the rear side, it carries dual 13 MP camera. It uses both front and rear cameras simultaneously with the Dual-Sight mode. Backed by a 3090mAh battery, it is priced at Rs. 36,999.
