Samsung just announced its flip phone W2018 and now it looks like Gionee is all set to take on Samsung latest offering. The Gionee W919 recently appeared on Chinese website TENAA which suggests that the company will soon be launching the device, at least in its home country China.
The alleged Gionee W919 flip phone is the successor model of the W909 flip phone launched last year. The listing on the TENAA website reveals the design and some specifications of the Gionee W919. In terms of the W919 design, the phone will most likely adopt a Pentagonal design which is something different when compared to its predecessor. Like the Gionee M7 Plus announced recently, the Gionee W919 spotted on TENAA sports a premium leather coating at the rear side along with one rear camera and a finger print sensor placed below it.
The Chinese website also shows that the Gionee W919 that measures 128 x 62.7 x 16.2mm and weighs 130 grams, will come with two 4.2 inch HD displays. The phone will mostly be powered by an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz. The device will feature 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. In terms of camera, the W919 will sport a 8 mega piel camera in the rear side and a 5 mega pixel camera in the front.
The W919 will be backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and is most likely going to run on Android Nougat out of the box OS. With these key specs revealed by TENAA, it looks like the Gionee W919 may come with minor upgrades over its predecessor. The notable changes in the phone seen on the website are in its design, battery size, RAM and the processor.
However, nothing is known about the pricing and release date of the phone. So, one will have to wait and see if Gionee W919 could be a candidate for the year 2018 or not.
